Introduction

Written by Bethany Lane

Greige is the worst color in the world in my opinion. It’s half grey and half beige, but it perfectly describes my life right now.

When my personal psychic and tarot reader, Ken, told me that my cards suggested I do something wild and think outside of the box, I had no idea what to do or where to start.

I’m stuck in a rut at work. My personal life is a mess. My family is disjointed, and that’s being kind. Plus, there’s so much going on in my head that I can’t even sort it all out.

I’m currently going through a divorce that would make the Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas movie “War of the Roses” look congenial. Men from my past are coming out of the woodwork like termites. I am currently the talk of the little town I live in, and, although I’m a writer, I haven’t written anything in ten years. Since I married Nate.

Ken said, ”Beth, writer’s write. So, write!” Not exactly “out of the box” advice, nor were his psychic skills put to use to come up with that statement, but I get where he’s coming from.

“Just start writing and see what comes out,” he said. “But find a way to make it wild.”

Wild, huh? Can I even do wild anymore? I feel a little too old for wild. What does wild even look like at my age? His words kept playing over and over in my head.

Just start writing and see what comes out. But find a way to make it wild.

Then it hit me, and that’s how I ended up here.

“My Greige Life” is my online diary. Unedited. Unfiltered. Unadulterated. Most importantly, it’s unapologetically me.

If you’re here looking for something vanilla, you’re going to be disappointed and probably highly offended, so I suggest you find your entertainment content elsewhere.

Yeah, I’m putting myself and my life out there for the world to digest and dissect, but hell. I’m writing and I’m doing it wild!
